Factors leading to stone decay
Metal rot and stone destruction
Fire and stone destruction
Effect of frost and rock destruction
Soluble salts and rock degradation
Environmental pollution and destruction of building stones

Environmental factors have a significant impact on the facade stone and change the facade stone. In addition to the facade stone, the factors of stone facade corruption affect other stones such as paving, which we refer to. Below is described as follows .

 Chemical
 Physical causes of

The main cause of spoilage in rocks is the effect of soluble salts on them. Environmental pollution, frost and rot in metal parts, the presence of weak veins as well as poor performance also cause the destruction and decay of stones. We know that stone is one of the most basic building materials that humans use to build tools and shelters and fix Has used his need. In stone buildings, carcass stone with gypsum and lime mortars has been used. Then join us to investigate the factors that lead to the destruction and corruption of building stones.

Factors that lead to destruction and corruption in building stone are :

Effect of soluble salts The effect of frost Pollution Metal rot Fire

Metal decay and rock destruction :

When rainwater falls on copper surfaces and its alloys, it causes green spots on the surface of limestone. In fact, the rusting of very hard metal surfaces disappears from the porous surface of the stones, and damage occurs due to the expansion of the rusting of iron and steel parts inside the masonry. For this reason, it is better to use stainless steel parts when installing facade stones .

 Fire and stone destruction:

Although the destruction and decay of building stone by fire is rare, you should know that the surface of stones such as marble, granite and sandstone are crushed or blackened by fire. It is best to know that limestone is generally not affected by fire, only light-colored rocks become pink forever due to the oxidation of the iron in them .

  Tracing and rock destruction:

Parts of the building such as shutters, canopies, building chairs and window floors are destroyed by frost more than other parts, and among building stones, limestone and dolomite more than sandstone are subject to destruction due to frost. They are icy and rocks such as marble, sheet and granite are affected by frost due to their very low porosity .

                                                       more

Soluble salts and rock degradation :

If the available moisture evaporates with the soluble salts from the surface of the building stone, it is natural that some salt remains in the porosity of the rock in the form of dandruff and layer, and continued evaporation of moisture on the surface of the stone and increasing the volume of crystals leads to crust Becomes the surface of the stone. Therefore, rocks that are more porous are more sensitive to soluble salts .

Environmental pollution and destruction of building stones :

The surface of some building stones is washable, but others are not. In calcium sulfate limestone produced on the surface, it is washed with water. But on surfaces that are not washable, the surface is blackened by soot and turns into hard crusts and bumps that have limestone dust around it. A stone like marble, when attacked by acids in the air, becomes rough over time, and due to the dense texture and density of this stone, it is less affected by crystallization.
