What is a stone scope

Rock scoop means that rocks used in vertical alignment are scooped to ensure that they do not loosen and fall, as well as to be stable during an earthquake. For this purpose, the back of the stone is grooved by a stone milling machine and then a hard, not soft reinforcement wire is placed around this edge and from behind this wire, the stone is twisted on both sides. When this stone is placed in a vertical level and when water mortar is poured behind the rock, the wire will form a connection with the water mortar and the possibility of falling of the stone will be eliminated. The term scoop is commonly used to refer to the restraint of facade stones, but it should also be used for vertical stones that are used as plinths in spaces such as hospitals and banks.

 

 

The reason for the scope is that stone, unlike brick, has less suction power and absorbs less mortar. For this reason, over time, the mortar behind the stone may dry out and the adhesion between the mortar and the stone may disappear and the stone may fall, which can be dangerous in the case of masonry.
